UPDATED: 7 Ways to EAT CHEAPER at VIKINGS Bacolod
    Posted in: Guides

Eat Cheaper at Vikings Luxury Buffet – Vikings seems to be getting along very well with the locals of Bacolod City. Whenever I pass by the branch, there’s always a good number of folks enjoying  the buffet. Bacolodnons love to eat  and there’s finally a place for us to do so to our heart’s content.

Vikings Bacolod - Mea in Bacolod - 2

There are still some, however, that think that P638 per person (+5% service charge; 2017 rate) is a bit much for one person to pay even if you have your fill of food. It’s true, especially for the budget-conscious person (basically every other Bacolodnon out there), but you DON’T always need to pay full price. There are 7 ways to eat cheaper at Vikings and it’s not even a secret (Updated to 2017 promos and discounts):

Eat Cheaper at Vikings Bacolod Banner

    1. Go with a Big Group

Guests who dine in big groups are entitled to receive a special discount:

    • 25% off for 30 pax
    • 27% off for 50 pax
    • 30% off for 70 pax
    • 40% off for 100 pax

    2. Go with 4 Full Paying Adults on your Birth Month

You can actually eat for FREE for an entire month if you always go in with 4 full paying adults during your birth month. Full paying here means without a senior citizen discount or any other discount. You don’t have to pay anything when you find 4 friends who already have reservations to the Vikings Luxury Buffet during your birth month. You can also celebrate with your family and get that one person discount.

    Sample Calculation:

    • You – FREE
    • 1 person – P638 (+5% service charge)
    • Total – P638 (+5% service charge) x 4 people = P2552 (+5% service charge)

    3. Go with 1 Full Paying Adult on your Birthday

On the day of your birthday you can eat cheaper at Vikings as long as you come in with a partner. So if your birthday is on January 21 (this is mine, by the way) and you make a reservation for two at Vikings Bacolod on that day, you don’t have to pay for yourself as long as you’re with 1 full paying adult.

    Sample Calculation:

    • You – FREE
    • Your partner – P638 (+5% service charge)
    • Total – P638 (+5% service charge)

    4. Eat with Just Kids

If you go in with just the kids, you can pay lesser because you don’t have to pay full price for children. The following are the rates for kids:

    • Kids below 3 ft: FREE
    • Kids 3 ft – 4 ft Weekday Lunch: 238 (+5% service charge)
    • Kids 3 ft – 4 ft Weekday Dinner: 238 (+5% service charge)
    • Kids 3 ft – 4 ft Weekends/Holiday Lunch & Dinner: 238 (+5% service charge)
    • Kids 4 ft – 4 ft 6″ Weekday Lunch: 438 (+5% service charge)
    • Kids 4 ft – 4 ft 6″ Weekday Dinner: 438 (+5% service charge)
    • Kids 4 ft – 4 ft 6″ Weekends/Holiday Lunch & Dinner: 438 (+5% service charge)

    5. Don’t Forget your Senior’s Card

Of course, seniors don’t have to pay full price as they get a mandatory discount when they present their senior citizen’s ID. So for all you seniors out there, always have your ID handy.

    6. 10 + 2 Promo

    1. Guests whose reservations of 12 guests and above are entitled to a special promo (10+2 Promo):
    2. For every 10 guests, 2 other person may eat for FREE.
    3. This promo cannot be used in conjunction with other promotions or discounts.
    4. Special Gift Certificates will not be honored with this promo
    5. This promo is only available at Vikings Marikina, Lanang, Jazz, BF, Bacolod, Pampanga, and Cebu.

    7. Look for Latest Promos

    Happy 75th PAL

The Philippine Airlines is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a NEW PROMO: non-stop flights from Cebu to LosAngeles. According to PAL representatives during a press conference, passengers of these flights will be carried by AirBus 340.

    PAL Representatives

This is great news because the non-stop flights will make it easier for people in Visayas and Mindanao to go to LA and vice versa. Since both Visayas and Mindanao hold some of the most beautiful spots in the Philippines, I’m hoping that this will bring in more tourists coming from LA or through LA. Filipino Families from LA who are looking to go home can also do so with convenience.

Whatever the case, this is great news because, currently, Philippine Airlines is the ONLY airline with this kind of flight.

Non-Stop Flights from CEBU to LOSANGELES Details

    • It’ll take a good amount of time before a passenger arrives to his or her destination. This is why the flight times were designed for passengers to sleep most of the trip off. For example, if you’re flight from CEB to LA is at 6:25pm, you’ll be arriving in LA the next day at around 6:00pm.
    • Flights days: TUES, THURS and SAT
    • All-in Economy Class Roundtrip Fare starting from $758.00
    • Travel period: March 15 to 25, 2016 and September 01 to December 15, 2016
    • Selling period: January 29, 2016 to March 15, 2016 (subject to seat availability)

    Nice to know facts:

    • Rates will still be competitively priced after the PROMO ends.
    • CEB-LA mileage will be higher.

Don’t forget to BOOK your TICKETS earlier and SHARE this with loved ones that have been wanting to come home to Visayas or Mindanao.

  • Quino’s: New Hot Dogs and a FREE Card
Posted in: Services, Where and What to Eat

I have always wanted to taste some of Quino’s hot dogs and finally, one Sunday afternoon at the District North Point, I and my family visited the cafe to snack on some.

     The Cafe at Ayala

First off, I have always liked hanging out at Quino’s when we are at The District North, otherwise known as Ayala, because they have a kid’s section. When you have children that can be left alone to play, you can just sit peacefully, enjoying your meal while your children sit in this corner of the cafe. The great thing is that the tables are not too close together to hinder you from seeing what your children are doing while playing at the corner.

Small kids love to visit Quino's Ayala.

Mommies will also be glad to know that the corner isn’t just for big kids. It’s also for little kids who cannot keep their hands to themselves. Soft toys are available at the corner for everyone to borrow.

    Afternoon Snacks

    The famous puffyani from Quinos.

These are Puffyanis. One can’t really say that they’ve experienced Quino’s when they haven’t tasted the puffyani yet. It is Quino’s signature pastry. It’s the cafe’s own version of a cream puff – a MUST TRY.

    My son loves Quino's puffyani!

My son just loves these! We ordered two plates of threes and he probably ate 4. He almost didn’t leave any for the rest.

Did you know that Quino's has french fries?

We brought the kids along so they had to have fries. Fries being available on the menu tells me that the cafe is diversifying its menu which is a great thing. Quino’s is not just focused on pastries and coffees. Recently, the Chicken Finger Rive Meal became available at the Mandalagan and Ayala branch.

    The Dogs and New Sandwiches

Quinos - Hotdogs and Discount Card - Mea in Bacolod - P5

    NEW – the Breakfast Hungarian

Two new sandwiches were introduced to the menu. We got to have both that Sunday afternoon we visited. My sister had both the sandwiches, though not at the same time. She loves the Breakfast Hungarian so much.

NEW – the Chicken Fillet Sandwich

I have yet to hear what she thought about the chicken fillet (because she had this to go) but the sandwich looks so yummy from the photo. I will update the article once I get a reply from her (promise).

    Sprinkled with love and Bacon.

Husband had this. What man doesn’t love a hot dog with cheesy sauce, sprinkled with bacon? A non-existent man, that’s what. He recommends that the lot of you order this on your next visit.

Quinos - Hotdogs and Discount Card - Mea in Bacolod - P8

I had me some Seattles Hot Dog. This dog has cream cheese and caramelized onions. I love anything with caramelized onions on it. The new menu items are definitely a great addition and you have to try them for a new taste experience. Don’t just go for the obvious right away. Try something unexpected once in a while.

How to Get a Quino’s VIP Card

Quino’s recently released a renewable VIP card which entitles the holder to a 5% discount on dine in and take out orders. The holder is also entitled to special discounts and promos posted every month. Currently, the discounts are exclusive to the Ayala branch. You may also get your VIP card there.

For you to get one for FREE, all you have to do is visit Quino’s Ayala, have snacks and chill out there. It’s that simple. The FREE card offer is limited so, as early as now, plan to visit and chill out at Quino’s Ayala this coming weekend. Don’t forget to LIKE their Facebook Page for updates about new menu items, current promos and special deals.
